Distracted
I have been very distracted over the last few months with other endeavors. Specifically, I have been blogging about data protection on my aboutrestore.com blog and have started a photo journal where I post one picture every day. Finally, I am also twittering. The result of all this that I have limited time for this personal blog. I will still try to post every now and then, but my frequency will continue to be low.
Sorry about that!
BC to fire head coach
The airwaves were on fire this week over the situation over at BC. The Eagles football team has been very successful under the two year tenure of coach Jeff Jagodzinski. The coach signed a 5 year contract with the college and finished his second year.
The big news is that the coach is interviewing with the Jets for their head coaching job and BC has indicated that they will fire him if he continues with the interview.
Patriots-Broncos
I am currently watching the Pats-Broncos game and am pleasantly surprised. I was concerned this AM thinking about the upcoming games because of how good Cutler looked in the few games where I saw him. He is certainly not looking very good tonight and the defense is getting pressure on him which is a nice change.
The one downside is the running back sitaution. Sammy Morris was fantastic in the first half and is now out. The new guy looks okay at best. Hopefully he does not have a serious injury and Lamont Jordan will be back as well.
The other intangible point is that the team just looks very motivated tonight. They have a hunger that was missing from past games. Now, if they can only maintain that for future games.
Microsoft provides 30% discount on eBay
This is weird but true. Microsoft has some sort of incentive going for using their Live search engine. They randomly offer discounts on certain product purchases for people who search using Live. The interesting thing is that one of the sites that they are offering the discount for is eBay. eBay sells almost anything you can imagine and so you can use the 30% discount on anything from eBay.
The process is actually quite simple. All you need to do is search from something generic and then the top advertisement bar in the browser will highlight the special live discount on eBay. You just click that link and then search for anything you want on eBay. You have to purchase the item via "Buy It Now" and you have to pay with PayPal. Neither of these conditions are particularly onerous. To see if the offer applies, simply click "Buy It Now"in the listing. This will bring you to a confirmation screen which will confirm that the discount applies and how much it is. At this point, you just complete the sale normally and you are all set! How simple is that?
Here is an article that talks more about this including more detailed step-by-step instructions. One final side note, Microsoft will take 60 days to pay you to protect against returns. That said, they will pay you in case and so there is none of this merchandise credit nonsense that we sometimes.
IMO, this is just a great deal and is too good to pass up. I already took advantage of it!
Josh Beckett
I have been meaning to post for a few days now and wanted to vent briefly. As everyone knows, the Red Sox are currently embroiled in the ALCS and are struggling; my frustration relates to pitching.
Josh Beckett is renowned for being a big game pitcher. Last year in the playoffs, he was outstanding and dominated. My frustration is that he has been the opposite this year. His performance has been mediocre at best and I believe that he bears the majority of responsibility for the loss on Saturday night.
